Komatsu Europe has recently shared plans to expand its KEPO (Komatsu Europe Parts Operation) site, in order to accommodate the storage needs of their heaviest and bulkiest spare parts. The extension will allow for additional storage space to be created, providing ample room for these parts to be stored.
By expanding the KEPO site, the company aims to maintain prompt and efficient delivery of authentic Komatsu parts to its customers across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
With a 10,000 m² expansion, the total area of the Komatsu Europe Parts Operation site in Vilvoorde, Belgium, now surpasses 59,000 m².
The newly expanded site is equipped with state-of-the-art sustainable technologies, featuring 840 solar panels that are already operational and produce an estimated 32,499 MWh of energy annually. This initiative is projected to reduce CO2 emissions by 3,323 tonnes over the next two decades. Additionally, more than a thousand additional solar panels are set to be installed within the next year.
The facility is equipped with a range of advanced features such as:
- sun-tracking roof light-capture system,
- underfloor heating,
- secure storage facilities,
- and a foam spray system designed for high-risk or hazardous products.
The extension of the site will enable better support for the recently delivered electric dumpers in Scandinavia, while also enhancing warehouse productivity by increasing the available stock of larger parts.
The newly expanded facility is fully operational, and Komatsu Europe remains committed to delivering top-quality products and services to its customers. This expansion will further strengthen the company’s leading position within the mining, construction, and utility equipment industry, as well as the original parts sector.
Tadashi Maeda, President of Komatsu Europe, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion of the Vilvoorde warehouse facility, stating that it reflects the company’s dedication to providing the highest level of service and support to its customers. The increased storage capacity resulting from the expansion will allow for faster response times to customers’ needs, ensuring they receive the necessary parts in a timely manner.
